What is a CGM?
A continuous glucose monitor (CGM) is a wearable device that tracks blood glucose levels 24h a day.
It uses a small sensor wire placed under the skin. The sensor wire needs to be inserted with an applicator.
Single Use
All components of CGMs are single use, discarded every 10 days. That means 36 of each component discarded a year per user.

The Right Placement
Application onto Skin
The applicator requires a mechanism to insert the sensor wire into the skin. The spring is released with the press of the application button.
After application, the detachable mechanism is medical waste, and has to be discarded.
